Offensive Canadians?

To we, truly offensive, -what my friends wife refers to as "neckish"- people, the idea is obviously absurd. But Canadian Human Rights Commissions think they've found one, and they mean to bring him into line. His crime of course was that he wrote a book that spoke rather poorly of islam, and otherwise acted like a bloody yank who thought that the US Const. applied to him. Nevermind that the Const. of we Yanks -I wonder if these Canadians have ever heard of the Mason Dixon- drew inspiration from a source common to the US and Canada. That might have given this Canadian the idea that his society would also value free speech. Some part of Canadian Society obviously still does. Covenant Zone plans to protest this prosecution and welcomes slogans for their rally. I would encourage anyone concerned with the state of free speech in the West to contribute as much as geography and talent may limit.

I'll again be a Newk's in Cahaba Heights at 7pm Thurs. to meet in public to discuss how susceptible my redneck paradise may be to death hippie/islamic encroachment.

Memorial Day

Having spent Memorial Day at The American Village in Montevallo, Alabama, I was very disappointed to see NBC give airtime to the gripes of people who didn't have money for travel or steaks this past memorial day. The day is to remember those that will never come home again, no matter the price of gas. The fools that sent their gripes into NBC do deserve whatever misery that they can conjure for themselves.

Having untimely confessed a passion to a friend, I have now lost all hope of love or friendship with a lovely young woman. -OK I confess, too young(21)- I likely got what I deserved-

It appears I some free time now, though.
Some weeks past, I did mention that I would rejoin my vigil, in sympathy with the CovenantZone, to discuss what I think is an identity crisis of the West. Our self image is entirely skewed in much the way that Evan Sayet has suggested. Because Modern Liberalism is such a parody of anything that might befit free men, liberal is now used as a slur.

We are different from the rest of the world, not because of genetic heredity, but because of intellectual work and material sacrifice that has made freedom, a near unique, inheritance to us. It is not befitting free men and women, who can choose so much of their own destiny to indulge in either petty hatreds or convenient euphemisms. Despite the hatred or love that you may feel, "camel jockey" and "moderate" do confuse the issue. Islam does exist apart from cultural reference and individual adherence. We've a freedom to criticize the core ideologies that inspire destruction that is unparalleled. It would be most responsible to use said freedom.

If you think I'm full of it and should like to tell me so, I'll be at Newks Cahaba Heights at 7pm Thurs evening.

If citizens of Birmingham, Al should take a notion to meet with others in public to discuss how the conflict between islam and liberal values (literally the values of those that submit to a knock-off Caglistro's fusion of a tribal moon Judeo-allah and those values that are "befitting free men") continues to be misdiagnosed, and mistreated, then you're certainly welcome to meet without me. I'll not be at Newk's, 7pm this coming thurs., where I've formerly, and quietly, been. -I might be missing the point of public meetings-

Misdiagnoses include the search for "moderate muslims." They exist, though you may want to check the obits. rather than your local mosque. The excision of "jihadists" from the State Dept. lexicon is another example of how the conflict is pretended against.

Unfortunately, even among those that can see clearly enough a problem, there is a common mistreatment of the conflict. I do believe that our politicians should speak more plainly, but theirs is a task of making policy from broad public mandates. Those public mandates should be our focus more than any leader on the horizon. I am sick of incantations to awake a zombie Churchhill. We should ourselves be in whatever way we can a thorn in the side of an ideology that does ill fit free men. And I do believe that nominal muslims, that are to a degree moderate, are to that same degree free -not submitting- people. We needn't resort to a "kill 'em all" mentality, until it is assured that our ideas carry no force with nominal muslims. This "submission" must die, so that as free people we, and they, can live in peace.

I will post where, next week, I plan to make myself available to those that should like to decide which of islam or I is/am nuts.

It would be most convenient to assume that Osama is some criminal mastermind that bends islam to his own will. -that for personal gain he has "hijacked your religion"- It would allay fears that his daring attacks upon us ,and others, might have a lasting resonance among, and give renewable violent impetus to, muslim populations. But, what is his will, or personal gain? Is he served or does he serve? It seems to me that with, his inheritance, and undeniable (however much we may hate him) talents, he could be currently having a high time in Dubai. But "masterminds," such as he, do live in caves, while hounded by the best trained, and most doggedly determined soldiers since,....since...-In fact I can think of no precedent of those currently giving military service to these United States.

I have this sympathy, for this devil, because many of our leaders would conspire to fill the shooting gallery with the sons and daughters of nominally muslim allies. Leaders that would claim a Christian faith, while cursing a sinner, and praising codified sin as a "religion of peace." I care not to be a part of the conspiracy of: those munafiq and dhimmi that that won't look mo' in the eye; those tacticians that say we'll shoot'em all (but later); and the, still seething from September, that practice aim and save nickels, for their turn at the gallery.

I am pleasantly surprised by events in Iraq, such as "Al-Anbar Awakening," but, with uncharacteristic pessimism (yes folks that's sarcasm), I fear that I know where this "awakening" does lead. It is not hard to imagine how a nominal muslim, in war torn Iraq, would support, any from of islam that meant greater peace and prosperity to their family, even if such islam was re-authored by the kufar... the great satan...the US State Dept. That same prevaricating and beguiling editor does encourage devotion to the damned book that started all of this trouble, just so long as you understand that no word can ever have meaning, without fresh and most creative "reinterpretation," by the new "prophet" in Washington. In my sympathy for the devil, I can see where, according to more authoritative islamic tradition, this arrangement would look a lot like hypocrisy. I can see where the sober students borne of our munafiq allies would, with eyes clear of the tears of war, choose again the jihad of mohamed.

Depression might be the only thing that would have mitigated my condemnation of a self-indulgent fool and as yet the Leftist media hasn't even noticed.

Suicide is not the,"action of a patriot and idealist who loves God and Country." It is the action of a summer soldier, indulging in nationalist hubris and narcissism. Suicide does neither God, Country, immediate family, nor patriotic youth any good at all. It only serves self indulgent fantasies about the impact on those left behind. The left has its own pantheon of pied pipers leading youth to self destruction, and I see no reason why a self-supposed patriot should emulate them in "protest against the American Left ." Upon the much maligned war we found ourselves in enough agreement, as to suggest that when the grand edifices of our own political inheritance are cast down by reckless populists, then we can, despite what polls may say that day, find still foundation to rebuild. Despite the causes that others might wish to pledge us, hope in each others honest disagreements still can lead to some solemn covenant.

Overlooked in discussions between those that think we must support European politicians with troubling past (and likely future of dissembling about said past) and those opposed to any hint of ethnic nationalism, is the fast growing alternative to Vlaams Belang. Lijst Dedecker is heralding the defection of yet another “Flemish Interest” candidate.

A couple of opinions that I gleaned from the translations that google provides causes me to think that this political party might be better suited to ally with Center for Vigilant Freedom in a desire to support European parties that resist the further accommodation of islam.

I think I get the gist of what they are saying but perhaps a Dutch speaker could provide a better translation. Or have we a problem with their stated principles?

Surely, if either actually reads this, GOV supporters will think that I too quickly discount Dewinter, and IBA will think that I am too comfortable with nationalism based on ethnicity.

To the former, I will say that if we act responsibly then we can look forward to being called "know-nothings," by nominally muslims, just as nominally Catholics, veritably Americans, continue to make mockery of both their faith and those that resisted said faiths formerly international and usurping power. Besides, Dewinter is not the only politician that resists islam.

To the latter, I will say that Flanders was once a place largely inhabited by...the Flemmish. And among those Flemmish did arise classically liberal ideals. There is nothing inately "NAZI" about the Flemmish nor Arabic. Understandably ethnic nationalism gives many an uneasey feeling, largely because the ideals of such nationalism are so ill defined. But, it can not be assumed that ethnic nationalist are inherently violent. The "friend not family" calculus of Nick Griffin is not what I'd prefer societies be built upon, but it is a decidely more enlightened view than what National Socialists of 1930's Germany espoused.

Regarding the Blog Wars:

Yes. (Though my definition of “racist” may align more to what is more commonly called “racialism“) The idea that the Flemish should have a Flanders, Kurds, a Kurdistan, and Jews, Israel is reliant on racial identities. Ethnic Nationalism is a guaranteed harbinger of neither, liberal values nor genocidal pogroms. I am not overly exited about Flemish politicians being in favor of a Flemish state, wherein they can have control over their own collective destiny. I’d rather that a seemingly lost, or recessive, American individualism pervade and subvert such collective identities, but will support those “racists” that otherwise support classically liberal values. Even if I think that those “racists” are full of shit.

I believe that Filip Dewinter meant “white” when he said “white Europe.” And, that a certain Odin’s Cross of modern tooled edges and protrusion of the proscribed circle is meant to evoke a pre-Christian “white” Europe. Of course, Churches in the US have similarly modernized the symbols on their business cards, but that is because they, like white nationalist, try to appeal to modern tastes.

And even still, I think Dewinter, as he attempts to broaden VB’s base of support, can be used. Center for Vigilant Freedom cannot control what Dewinter thinks, but neither can Dewinter fully control where his wagon goes, once hitched to a broad inclusive movement. Though if my read of Dedecker is correct, I would rather drop VB in favor of Dedecker List.

I do not believe that cooperation with VB is a sign of desperation, as has been charged, but one of exuberance. VB has the votes, DL does not. I do not fault Center for Vigilant Freedom for dealing with Dewinter, nor those that urge caution.

When I was refused entry to the meeting of the ismailis at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, I was told that since I did not live in the immediate area that it was "only fair" that I not be allowed to attend. Actually, I think they could have easily accommodated me, and I also think that the traffic and noise problems associated with the development of a Jamatkhana on the residential street of Sulphur Springs road could also be addressed. But since, residents that I spoke to wanted no development, and others wanted taxable tenants, it's "only fair" that the ismailis have been denied permits.

And make no mistake, the residents were more concerned about traffic than the fact that ismailis claim to be muslims. After all, Unless I'm mistaken the real muslims, the ones that support "mujahadeen" but not "terrorists" actually got their permit for a mosque on Hackberry Lane.

Therefore, I'm not invited.

Upon attending a meeting for residents near the proposed Jamatkhana in Hoover, I was initially warmly greeted and assured that my lack of an invitation wouldn't likely be a problem, and then refused entry. To these Agakhanis credit, I had an "I read mohamhead comics" cap on during the registration. I'd even forgot to doff it at the door like a southerner should. But could their cordial nature just be further evidence that these ismailis aren't careful readers. -perhaps they had to send a picture to the Aga Khan for interpretation- In any event, I remembered to take off my hat and had some interesting conversations with the members of this nominally muslim community before I was shut out from the meeting.

In typical fashion most often they defined what I believed and then simply said, we're the same. One even had the discretion to ask what I was, before defining my tradition for me. -I gave a perhaps dated answer- It was very disappointing. I explained how there are radical differences between the central texts of islam and Christianity, and assured them that I didn't really think they were real muslims anyway. I had noticed that they were so consistent, in their dishonest interpretations of islamic texts, as to tell the same story to their believers that they told us unbelievers. I asked how they protected against a more literal interpretation of the koran, and, in keeping with what I'd read about this ismaili sect, they pointed out that the Aga Khan interpreted for them. But isn't that shirk? I was informed that they'd heard the shirk charge before. Having heard the charge before, evidently didn't give them enough time to also have an answer ready.

The fact is, I am sincere when I say that these nominal muslims are not adherent to the faith created by mo'. Its not just something that I've said to try to get a rise out of them. (they were unfailingly polite) I just wish that if as we have so often heard, that islam isn't a monolith, then it would not be defended as such. I can't see that these Aga Khani cultist really have much invested in the general defense of islam. The koran says what it clearly says. The hadith likewise. That these people don't believe any of that would be a great relief.

I guess what was so disappointing to hear, through the shut door, was traditional dissembling from apparently non-traditional people. Don't tell me that jihad isn't the problem that I think it is. Don't give me the line about a tiny minority of extremists. Just admit that you are the minority. Telling each other, the koran doesn't say, may work for you, but I can read without the aid of the Aga Khan.

Jamatkhana proposed in Hoover, Alabama

It seems that there is both good news and bad news concerning the proposed Jamatkhana at the intersection of Al Seier Rd and Sulphur Springs Rd. It is not a mosque (no that would be the BIS site on Hackberry Ln, which has caused confusion to some bloggers) and the ismailis may not be muslims. The bad news is that they do claim to be muslims in their constitution.

(A) The Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims affirm the Shahadah 'La- ilaha illallih, Muhammadur Rasulu-llah'. the Tawhid therein and that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Salla-llahu alayhi wa-sallam) is the last and final Prophet of Allah. Islam, as revealed in the Holy Quran, is the final message of Allah to mankind, and is universal and eternal. The Holy Prophet (S.A.S.) through the divine revelation from Allah prescribed rules governing spiritual and temporal matters.

The trouble -or is this good news?- is that they go on to say that,

"(H) By virtue of his office and in accordance with the faith and belief of the Ismaili Muslims, the Imam enjoys full authority of governance over and in respect of all religious and Jamati matters of the Ismaili Muslims."

"(I)1.1 Mawlana Hazar Imam has inherent right and absolute and unfettered power and authority over and in respect of all religious and Jamati matters of the Ismailis."

"(I)1.2 Mawlana Hazar Imam has the sole authority to: (a) determine all questions that may arise as regards the meaning and interpretation of any religious or jamati tradition or custom of the Ismailis and amend or discontinue it at any time"

While the "Imam of the Time" may not be recognised as a "prophet" of ismailism , he is invested with undisputed powers of interpretation. Effectively such "full authority" means that mo' is not actually the "last and final" prophet of ismailism as is stated in article (A). And, I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing, but I'm pretty sure it is shirk in islamic tradition.

Hopefully it means that ismailis are not as stuck on the principle of the murderous pedophile being al-insan al-kamil. And, the, apparent pluralist and philanthropic, words and deeds of the Aga Khan do suggest that ismailis might have been provided, by their Imam, with more flexible interpretations of violent koranic verses than those read by more traditional muslims. But flexibility does not necessarily entail that the current Imam will always be one with the image of a jet setting philanthropist. Nor does it settle whether the Aga Khan prevaricates as a pluralist or as a muslim. He surely prevaricates about his finances.

And while his speeches and philanthropic ventures might suggest that he is truly accepting of the infidels right to live, a Der Speigel interview of October 12, 2006 is full of beguiling non-answers and gentle redirection of any blame toward islam. He said in regards to;

"Anyone who knows the faith of Islam, for example, would have known that the caricatures of the prohet were profoundly offensive to all Muslims."

Persons that dream of multicultural societies should avoid the conceit of being even more welcoming of foreign peoples than previous liberal societies while failing to recognize clear conflicts between cultures. I've been slow to actually adopt the language of discussing "covenants." When it was first mentioned I'd worried that those discussing "new covenants" might too quickly discard existing workable compromises -I still think the word "compromise" more realistic, even if less inspiring. I should have known better. Truepeers eloquently states the purpose of which, I have been some feet dragging and far removed supporter.

What makes Western culture what it is, is not something for which many Western
people have sufficient regard. What allows us Westerners, traditionally and
constitutionally, to rule ourselves instead of being ruled by a code of ritual

Purpose, Preparation or Pertubation?

I have been in a public place (recently Jim 'N' Nicks) on Thurs evenings in order to discuss islam since it was first suggested by Dag. (who can be found posting with other blue revolution sympathizers at Covenant Zone. )

Last night madcow, pilgrim, an as yet blogless infidel, and I met and discussed the purpose for our meeting. It is true that cars parked in Alabama have a remarkably fireproof quality. And that muslims that can be met here are often unfailingly polite. None of that changes what islam fundamentally is or how it has revealed itself to others that are not so fortunate to live in Alabama. I do not speak only of what might be considered the muslim world, but also France, Denmark, Sweden, and Dearborn, Michigan.

The recognition that many Americans do not live directly next to a jihadist mosque did likely lead Christine of Center for Vigilant Freedom to suggest the support of forces-of-freedom-abroad. So perhaps, we might organise to raise funds and lend financial support to those more engaged than we by islamic encroachment.

Personally, I would like to expand the network of people in this state that are probably already concerned about islam. Such persons might tell me ahead of time when next Daniel Ali is scheduled to speak. I've seen only brief coverage on our local NBC affiliate after I'd already missed his speech.

And as much as it may seem that the threat does not reside here, I'm sure that memory of similar thought can be elicited from citizens of the above mentioned European countries and Dearborn.

I rely on the same translations as most muslims of the world. If it is merely an issue of translation then defenders of islam should remedy this.

So who is now the authority of islam? Since you have no trouble ridiculing my lack of credentials perhaps you could take your happy self into Saudi Arabia and explain that they should allow freedom of conscience in their nation.

5. The Qur'an, the mind of Muhammad, and Islam in general are too complex and mysterious for infidels to understand

Are you admiting that you yourself are confused?

6. What about the Crusades (and other violent Christian actions of the past)?

Can you demonstrate that they are in keeping with central tenants of Christianity?

7. What about the violent verses in the Bible?

Limited. The harsh laws of the Old Testement were for the observation of Jews. Nowhere does the Old Testement call for the violent subjugation, conversion, or death of all unbeleivers. Christians observing the New Testement, which is itself pacifist, have subjected themselves to the laws of the Old Testement by volition. Can you provide a violent verse that can be understood to be calling for the death of a living non-Christian or non-Jew? Neither can the Christians and Jews, That is why Christians and Jews manage to act as though they have some "home training."

8. Those Muslims are not “real” Muslims

Another, gathering of redneck infidels for pork eating in sympathy with the Blue Revolution of France and Convenanters of Canada has concluded. Pilgrim and I met with a fellow 910 member , degreeofmadness, and discussed -what else?- that prevaricating death cult called islam.

I wondered aloud how much of the evident dislike for islam, to be found in Alabama, might be based on an ill informed xenophobia that would sublimate during a well administered infliction of guilt. It is a dangerous conceit to think that islam can not make the same type of inroads here, that it has made in Europe. Not if the underlying reason for resistance is an ignorant hatred of a foreign peoples. I want the people of Alabama to know exactly what islam is. Hatred of such a set of values does naturally follow such knowledge. Such honest confrontation, with what islam actually is, can even lead muslims to depart from the death cult.

I have been meeting other bloggers lately.

The discussion there in relation to initiatives of the 910group, and my presumed participation, led me to jump at the chance to meet the Rocket City Birmingham Bloggers.

I had hoped to politely hijack their meeting and find someone more suitable for 910Group's purposes. When I learned that 762justice, already a member of 910Group, had also been at GOE and then later Degree of Madness showed up with a "I will never submit" t-shirt that had been thoughtfully translated into Arabic, I realized there wasn't much need of my planned piracy. Nevertheless, by now both of my readers know that I'm hard headed, so I informed attendees of 910Group's warnings about a renewed effort of CAIR to re-educate Americans with a fresh white wash of troublesome islamic texts and traditions. And while I was speaking of CAIR I made sure to tell them of Ahmed Bedier's odd invitation toward Pim's Ghost.

Also in attendance was the gracious host that did invite us all Alabama Improper, her spouse, and the aptly named Flash Point that was quite upset about the 62% pay raise of Alabama legislators.

Having had so much fun yelling at sub-lingual left dhimmi philobarbarist this past Saturday in Washington, DC, I am contemplating stockpiling a years supply of Mad Dog in a u-store it and, after the fashion of the truly deranged, yelling at passer-bys full time. Of course, I jest. I detest Mad Dog and Coors does tend to sour in storage.

Yelling at people is quite fun though. I begin to see why the poorly educated children that were herded before us, will spend so much energy in stealing traffic control drums that constitute their makeshift riot shields. And close behind these young fans of dime store historians, were the chemically arrested peter pans that still haven't kicked the protesting habit after thirty years of creative loafing. And on my side of the street I must confess, that I taunted those crazy leftist kinigits from behind a leather wall of those that were,... a bit busy forty years ago. I even saw Booze Fighters pressing forward toward the barrier to shake their fingers at the ungrateful fools. -Now that was a bottle of whip ass with a twist off cap- I couldn't help but join in when the motorcycling veterans began the chant. "Ya' don't know shit!"

Why do I question the patriotism of the herd arrayed before me, you may ask? In fact, I do not. The symbols and messages displayed left no doubt. The inability of demonstrators to carry the flag of the United States of America in an upright position made ridiculous even the memory of ever having had such a doubt. No the patriotism of these fools is nothing to doubt. It does not exist. If there exist any USA patriots that wish to protest the War in Iraq, then they'd better get organized.

The anti-war movement in this nation is a farcical front for unbridled anti-Americanism. If, peace loving, war criticizing, patriots do exist then know that you were not represented by the demonstration in DC. Those that could carry Old Glory with pride were pro-war veterans. Those that did not choke on the chant "USA" did never say "end the war." It would seem that there must exist patriotic war critics, but where are they? Surely they did not march as cattle before the islamic and Communist herdsmen under the ANSWER banner on March 17th 2007.

A recent Mike Judge movie "Idiocracy" is a very worthy diversion, when one has time for diversions. Or, when one needs to laugh in lieu of head-butting the wall.

I went to an associated blog of one of my more regular reads in order to recommend this delightfully heavy handed satire on the dumbing down of societies, only to be reminded of those in the trenches of real ideological conflicts.

Charles Henry, of Covenant Zone provides links to a developing story of victims of Egypt's Eid Al Fatr rapes finding voice through blogs. I went to the linked site, but I am no polyglot.

In the comments of Charles Henry's post Dag reminded me of a conveniently forgotten story to which I had been previously directed. A homeless blogger named Bill Simpson has been banned from blogging in a public library in Canada. He was then harassed and libeled by hackers.

I visited Bill Simpson's site and have read only cursorily, so I can not attest to what kind of genius and/or crackpot that he may be, but let it be for the record. Hackers that delete and otherwise vandalize that which they do not agree are cowards. Public servants that think that they can carefully choose the public which they are bound to serve are mistaken.

I will be at the bar at Jim 'n' Nicks Inverness tomorrow, Thurs. 7pm. I would be glad to meet anyone that would like to discuss islam.

I remain convinced that islam is, perhaps not a unique, but a present danger. Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, nor the Spanish Inquisition are much of a threat to my current way of life. Islam still wages jihad against all infidels, which I happen to be. Yes, islam has been in a constant state of war since its inception. The only peace in islam is through "hudna" and hypocrisy. Moderate muslims, are either prevaricating, ignorant, or haven't the courage to declare apostasy.

Many of islam's apologist like to point out:

suggesting that it would be unfair to judge islam by the acts of a supposed tiny minority.
Should the actions of this supposed minority (if indeed it is a minority) not at least raise the question? And once the question is raised, should not some correlation between the supposed minorities actions be attempted between the written history of the faith. Isn't it context that is meant to ameliorate the harsh calls for infidel death in the koran. Christianity has a distinctly different context that it's violent acts occurred. Compared to the acts and words of Christ, violence is a clear anomaly. The actions of this supposed tiny minority compared to, violent passages of the koran, and the example of mohamhead, reveal a clear pattern.

I would base it on the past history of Muslims up until recent years, and even today for a large number Â the overwhelming majority, indeed Â of the Muslim population. Just as we say or claim that Islam has no reason to condemn the whole of Christianity for the acts of a relative handful in the Crusades and other times, so I would point out that we cannot condemn the whole of Islam. Most of the faithÂs followers are peaceful, law-abiding and yet quite observant. The acts of the extremist minority, on the other hand, who have been incited by the clerics for either a highly conservative religious agenda, or hidden political purposes, are the ones that get all the attentionÂand thus tar all of the faithful with the same brush.
The maxim, ÂDonÂt judge a book by its cover,Â applies to the Middle East as well as to the United States. Consider this in future.

The generalizations that they make are of a more intimate variety and much more useful than your platitudes concerning Âthe overwhelming majorityÂ of muslims. Please understand that these former muslims have come from that overwhelming majority of muslims, ignorant (just as most christians) of their faith.

I still harbor sympathies (fat lot of good that is doing anybody) with the blue revolution (of France), and their most ardent neo-covenanter Canadian supporters (NoDhimmitude). I can be found, until further notice, at Jim n' Nicks in Inverness at 7pm on Thursdays.

Alabamans may be interested to know that A mosque is to be built overlooking I-65 in Hoover and that the Muslim Student Association seems to have done rather well in the runoff elections at University of South Alabama. Why does it matter? -or the question asked differently, Why am I such a "bigot"?- Truly, when the Baptists build a new structure neighbors don't get overly excited, unless one happens to be a liquor store owner with limited parking in the rear lot. Neither does the community at large get much involved in Student Government.

The USA elections concern me because, I wonder what this may mean for the freedom to publish for the Vanguard, since back in Feb. the Muslim Student Association got all worked up about the defense of free speech found in said Vanguard. As I recall the writer, of the defense, even called the infamous 12 cartoons - evidently, we infidels aren't supposed to draw mohamhead - "in bad taste."

The mosque may be a qualified asset. (of course I don't live near it) Many people in Alabama suffer still from a "it couldn't possibly happen here" mentality. (Even though H. Rap Brown was captured in Lowdes and the DC snipers killed a liquor store clerk in Montgomery) Soon minarets may (I've not seen architects plans) rise from Shades Mtn. in clear view from many parts of the city menacingly close to I-65. I'm still unclear as to how the "moon over homewood" may present itself to the site.

Opportunities present themselves to provide an unvarnished view of islam. Audiences leaving United 93 will likely be receptive to learning more about the threat of islam. I have (admittedly, only once) passed out business cards encouraging the consideration of the website FaithFreedom.org to such an audience. I do not know if this has had any effect, but it is better than doing nothing. I continue to miss these and other opportunities. This past month I have missed a meeting sponsored by Samford University on islam. Hopefully, Alabamans are learning the truth about islam despite my faltering. But, I will not rest on such a platitude. I will continue and strive to improve. I, which to date is AISHA, need your help.

On Thursday May 4, 2006 Pilgrim and I (maccusgermanis) will be at Jim 'N' Nick's at inverness. I will be wearing a "I read mohamhead comics" cap, probably seated near the bar furtherest from US 280. Please come enjoy some pork, beer, and discussion.

United 93

I've recently seen the movie "United 93". I don't know the extent to which the movie has been faithful to the interdepartmental workings of our government, or to the passenger's vigilance. So keep in mind these comments are not meant to criticize any particular action that might, or might not, have been taken by passengers or administration.

My observations have been inspired by the movie's portrayal of a centralized bureaucracy ill equipped to deal with real time situations and it's portrayal of citizens (aboard the plane) conditioned to let professionals deal with problems. How different might the outcome have been, on this plane and others, if those citizens, that bravely died to avoid becoming a missile, had realized even sooner the task that had become theirs and theirs alone. American's faced with terrorists, high winds, or rising waters must realize that sometimes the cavalry can never come in time. And, that whether part of that cavalry or those besieged, Americans must develop decision making skills that do not require top down administration. Perhaps it was hindsight, the musical score selection, or my general misanthropy, that had me thinking of the passengers. "What are you waiting for? They're just four skinny punks."

Likewise, in my comfortable seat in the theater (well actually it wasn't that comfortable, but I think you may understand what I imply here), I found myself wondering of the military commanders that struggled to get FFA flight approvals and Executive Branch shoot down approval, whether they were more afraid of court martial or of yet another building full of citizens becoming a smoking hole? Sometimes the wrong thing done at the right time is of much more value than the right thing done after the threat has passed. (Am I quoting someone whom I can't recall here?)

I make these observations hoping to point to a broad love of centralization among those that live in "the land of the free and home of the brave" that is a danger to us all. Because of the events of 9/11 we have a new cabinet level administration that during Katrina, seemed again ill prepared to relieve so many that had seemed to sit and wait for the professionals. Again, I feel I must stress that this is not meant to single out the professionals that had what I see as an impossible task. Nor is it meant to single out people that foolishly thought, what so many other American's would have thought in their situation. That thought being I imagine similar to that of the passengers of the missiles of 9/11, just stay calm help will come. We must be prepared, if not materially, at least mentally for even the worst of possible outcomes, and remember that each day our fate is largely of our own choosing. If we can not see a way to survive this day, then how might we on this day chose to be remembered? I shall always remember the "flight that fought back" with much reverence.

Just pilgrim and I, having arrived late (7:30), were at the GRIPE. I gave out a few of the cards that I had printed.

I missed an event about islam that was sponsored by Samford University (which is a Baptist school. I called the organizer earlier this week only after all 135 seats were already full. I expect there to be some mention of the event in The Alabama Baptist. I'm imagine that the event was no whitewash of islam, but I've been surprised before by people that readily accept a plausible deniability offered by islam apologists. We should no longer wonder how Nazi's were able to kill so many jews without arousing the suspicions of Germans of any semblance of conscience, they probably just blamed everything on a tiny minority of "radical" Nazi's nothing like the many peace loving National Socialists.

I have recently begun handing out business cards bearing the indelible infidel ink logo that encourage people to visit faithfreedom.org. The writers there, sometimes ex-muslims, regularly put the finest point on the danger that islam is. Again, they say it best

Harmonies of Liberty

This past Friday March 31, 2006, I attended a "symposium on the Role of Religion in Public Life" entitled "The Harmonies of Liberty." I was encouraged to see that most panelists were near in unison in stating words similar to that of President of Interfaith Alliance of Alabama Nick Foster, that "both faith and policy benefit from separation." One panelist did, in questioning Judge William H Pryor, Jr., ask if a more symbiotic nature might be possible. Surprisingly enough this panelist was no meddlesome Baptist preacher, but instead Yusuf Salaam Alabama House of Representatives, D-Selma, who professes faith in islam. Yusuf Salaam professes faith in islam and defends it in vague and general terms of it being an "Abrahamic and Adamic" faith of "8 million Americans" who are "fervent believers in the democratic process." Even stating that "there is no conflict of islam with science." I had to laugh at that point.

I asked no questions of Mr. Salaam during the question and answer period of the panel, unable to distract myself from other lines of inquiry that were being posed. I was however able to have an interesting conversation with Mr. Salaam after the panel. He did seem to declare the mullahs of iran apostate. Of course these were not his exact words, but in each example that I raised in demonstrating that every creed and color of man was being slaughtered in the name of islam, he declared that, in that situation, true islam was not being practiced. I can not recall him citing any koran. He accused me of being mis-informed and of course he asked me if I read Arabic. I responded by asking him if he read Arabic, if so he should soon start work on a new translation of the koran, pointing out that a large number of muslims had to rely on the very same translations as myself. Interestingly, he pointed out that a large number of muslims were illiterate. I'm not sure what point that was meant to make. But it was in keeping with his continual attempt to distance his "true" islam from any actual practice of islam on the globe. In a March 18, 2004 article with Liz Maziarz, Mr. Salaam displayed more of this desire to separate his "universal Islam" (which seems very exclusive) from any Arab influence.

Salaam yearns to see American Muslims "stop being scaredy cats and consolidate political power." He feels that a lack of cultural identity on the part of African Americans has led to the success of orthodox Islam within that community, but that it is essential for African American Muslims to retain a freedom of intellect, because he sees no point in "trading Caucasian slave masters for Arab slave masters."

He attempted to dissuade me from my denouncement of islam by suggesting he could not , implying a fear of offending me, cite the acts of the Ku Klux Klan in a discussion of Christianity. I told him he certainly could bring up such things, that Christianity had been able to confront and conquer such blights exactly because it was brought to light. And that in emulation of that model, he, who seemed to yearn for a reformation of the practice of islam, should welcome that the onslaught against an islam, did lend a legitimacy to a would- be reformer such as himself.

When I brought up Aisha, he first asked me what I thought was wrong with a nine year old girl being married off to an older man? I asked, What volition can a nine year old child display in choosing a mate? Mr. Salaam, then cited that arranged marriages had occurred in Western civilization ( to nine year olds?). I conceded that arranged marriages had occurred in Western civilization but that having conquered that evil, I saw no reason we should turn back. That mohamed should in no way be emulated.

An Afghan man is facing the death penalty for becoming a Christian. Abdul Rahman was arrested last month after his family went to the police and accused him of converting from Islam. He has gone on trial for rejecting Islam - an offence punishable by death under Shariah law.
During the hearing, the defendant allegedly confessed that he converted from Islam to Christianity 16-years-ago.
He had been working as a medical aid worker for Afghan refugees in neighbouring Pakistan.
The judge said: "We are not against any particular religion in the world.
"But in Afghanistan, this sort of thing is against the law.
"It is an attack on Islam. The prosecutor is asking for the death penalty."

He [Supreme Court judge Ansarullah Mawlavizada ] said the man could face the death penalty if he refused to revert to Islam as Sharia law proposes capital punishment for any Muslim who converts to another religion. Afghanistan's constitution states: "No law can be contrary to the sacred religion of Islam."

The paper reprinted one cartoon, called the cartoons of Jyllands-Posten offensive, and denounced violence. And muslims were offended. Was it the denouncement of violence that they found unbearable?

An Alabama man, Jason Micheal Gardener, has done something stupid and ineffectual.
After reportedly offering "racial slurs" at a Tuscaloosa restaurant managed by Bahrain native, Jassim Maden he shot into a parked car, in which Nabil Chagri and family awaited their food.

He is now charged with attempted murder .

Recent outbursts over the publication of cartoons makes obvious to many that islam is not the "religion of peace" that it is widely reported to be. Partriot Guard Riders rode to honor and protect the family of Cpl Mathew D. Conley today in Killen, Alabama.

WBC was thankfully a no-show.

I tagged along in a "cage"?, (are they making fun of my brother's old buick?). These guys and gals were very respectful and seemed to work well with local law enforcement. I don't imagine my presence added much, but was glad to have this outlet to show gratitude for a fallen soldier.

I think all who speak of "they will have died in vain" if this or that happens, do miss the point. These soldiers believe in an America worth fighting and dyeing for. And that belief is a cause of itself worth our gratitude.

In the cartoon controversy, it’s the French who’ve been courageous, the Americans and British spineless.
This time, the French have put the British and Americans to shame. From the outset of the crisis over the Danish caricatures, they have vigorously defended the right of free expression, unlike the British and Americans, whose pretence that they “understand” Muslim outrage has fooled no one and given the fanatics the (correct) impression of weakness and lack of conviction—and thus encouraged them.
Two French satirical weeklies with Voltairean aplomb, Le Canard Enchaîné and Charlie Hebdo, have published a series of cartoons mocking the Islamists and their beliefs as they deserve, with a courage and frankness almost entirely missing from the British and American media.
Charlie Hebdo’s front page, for example, has Muhammad, grimacing with his hands over his eyes, saying: “It’s hard being loved by all these idiots.” On the next page, Muhammad looks at the Danish cartoons and says, “It’s the first time the Danes have made me laugh.”
Muhammad appears on the top left-hand corner of the first page of Le Canard Enchaîné with a rubber stamp, which he uses to certify several cartoons throughout the paper as Satanic. One of these cartoons has Muhammad under the caption “The Pencil: Weapon of Mass Destruction?” sitting at a desk, trying to draw a human figure, but managing only a childish stick man. “If only I knew how to draw,” he says.
On the inside pages, other Satanic cartoons have Hamlet declaiming, “There is something rotten in the state of Denmark” with the caption “Hamlet to enter Islamist repertoire?” and a picture of the Little Mermaid of Copenhagen, draped in a black Islamic costume with only the eyes showing, with the caption “The Islamists give a new look to the Little Mermaid.” (The verb in the caption, relouquer, brings to mind reluquer, which means to ogle—doubtless a deliberate play on words.)
A Muslim association tried in the French courts to have Charlie Hebdo banned, but the courts firmly rejected the request, and the edition sold out quickly. The two papers have inflicted a humiliation on the Islamists, in the best possible way, by exposing their intellectual nullity to withering scorn. No one can accuse the two papers, either, of racism, xenophobia, or any of the other crimes of lèse-PC, since they criticize and mock everyone (who deserves it) without fear or favor.
The French have emerged in this crisis as far stauncher and more fearless and unapologetic defenders of freedom than the Americans or the British. In this instance, they have stuck to an important principle without calculation of immediate interest or even short-term consequences. They find the equivocations of the Anglo-Saxons strange, spineless, and reprehensible, and in this instance they are absolutely right.

While we Canadians are yet unsure if

comment at their blog raised eyebrows because of the proximity of anti-Masonic

What, for example, is the duty of western men and women to the

general oppression under Islam and related forms of family life?

How do
we contest the multicultural ideolgies that would defend "the choice" to wear
the burka, as a "right"?

This question of defending women enslaved by
religion, family, and multicultural ideology is the specific topic for our
meeting this Thursday. If you cannot join us, have a look at Dag's blog -
especially his archives for last week - to gain some sense of the larger blue
scarf movement and consider organizing a meeting at your local McDonald's. Just
get the word out in the blogosphere when you will be at McDonald's, and see if
any blue scarves show up. It worked for Dag.

Dag chose McDonald's as our
meeting place, not simply because they are ubiquitous and you can sit for hours
with a cup of coffee. In their ubiquity McDonald's also symbolize a western
secular alternative to the sacred meeting places of the Islamic world. And
because the target of our discussions is not simply Islamic radicalism, but its
present tactical marriage with imperialistic western multiculturalism,
McDonald's is the perfect symbol since it is so often a scandal for the elitist
anti-American leftists who know what is best for all of us and who would
restrict our free speech and stomachs accordingly.

Of course, it is when
the mouths are closed that violence is most certain, and the present moves to
restrict free speech are sure to reduce the security of Muslims in the west, not
strengthen it. Because we are not against Muslims as people (we are out to love
and defend the better side of humanity in all of us) but simply want a venue to
meet and criticize aspects of both Islamic religion and postmodern western
ideologies, we expect and will welcome into our meetings people of all faiths

I have recently read in a local paper that Westboro Baptist Church is planning a protest of Sgt First Class Stephen J. Wright of Talladega, Alabama. I am consoled that the Patriot Guard Riders, a group familiar with WBC, is marshalling to shield the family from the hateful sloganeers. The family,wisely perhaps, seems to closely guard any timeline for their memorial plans. I suspect that the burial will be done at a sudden time without much press coverage. It will be sad if a U.S. soldier must be sneaked away for burial but I can see the wisdom of telling as few as possible. And I am grateful for Patriot Guard Riders mission of respect.

Some time ago, an interesting question was asked on "A Republic, if you can keep it" , concerning personal disaster readiness that evoked me to pledge to look further into local preparations here in Jefferson County, Alabama. And of course, I have procrastinated. I still have only skimmed over the online materials, but they seem to refer to plans that are not readily available for public review, but I may have overlooked them. If something were to happen, now... I have;

enough gas in my car to get to what I still consider my hometown
enough food for a week, though it hardly seems appetizing now
water may be problematic here, though I should have the ability of purifying some amount due to a small mioxx device
and once I get to my hometown I'd probably be weathering whatever storm with a filter plant operator of some 30 yrs
an amount of old ammunition that should be shot for practice and replaced

The unorganized thoughts that I had referred to on Mr Shantz blog are still unorganized but involve leadership. Many readily available resources seem to have been been mismanaged during Katrina. Most grossly mismanaged were the inhabitants of New Orleans. I believe that, whatever conditioning we may have from our lifestyles, people will act to help themselves and others during emergencies. I'm sure that Jabbar Gibson's ride to dry land is not the only act of natural evolving leadership that occurred, but is the only one I can now recall. We in America are conditioned to rely too much on professional services. While it is useful in the cities and towns we live in to often defer to those with superior education and training for a given task, it is irresponsible to assume that those services will always be available. And when the authorities we elect are derelict for whatever reasons we must recognize and act upon a default authority to act most responsibly with the resources that are in our possession. I feel this includes an unused public bus. This sounds like theft, but as long as I am personally prepared to take responsibility for whatever I take and to make whole an owner who loses property by my action, I would rather act than always wonder about ifs and thens.

While disappointed that our media seems so often willing to cry racism, I am most glad that few of such pundits feel the need to make broad generalized excuses that include me. Some days ago, I was watching television (CBS, I believe,) when discussions of looting (involving more than necessities) in New Orleans provided the anchor (white) and two reporters (also both white), the opportunity to voice an almost unified - I'm sure you've heard it before- admonition that it would be wrong for us to judge these looters due to their social and economic standing (read as black). How infuriating it must be for a black man, that is poor, that has also happened to never have stolen anything in his life, to be in collection with all black people patted on the head and told in essence, "It's OK we never expected anything better from you." I (white) hate being called a racist, but at least no one suggests that it is unreasonable, to expect me, to respect myself and my neighbors. Thankfully, in the same broadcast one reporter (black) did hint at personal responsibilty, as he noted that the Americans in New Orleans did not display the same experienced provision for their own survival, that he had witnessed of people during the recent tsunami. Am I to be called a racist because I do expect better of all Americans?

Reading about A.N.S.W.E.R.'s anti-war protest scheduled for Sept 24 in Washington, I was sure that protestwarrior.com would stage their own counter protest. I am encouraged to see the Anti-war movement be challenged, but am disappointed to see arguments for the War or even those arguments against, both reduced to chants. I'm currently entertaining the notion of going to the protest with a sign that simply reads "stop shouting." If anyone wants to know my views on the War they will have to ask,.. nicely. Perhaps even I should print yellow cards that warn "You are not communicating effectively" and red cards that read "Authorities will be notified" to be given to the most belligerent of participants.

Argue the Issue, not the Antogonist

There seems a backlash occurring against criticism of Western culture. While I feel this is deserved and long overdue, the West's ability to self criticize and be criticized has played no small part in its rise to preeminence in the world. In fact I think the success of the rising backlash against those overly critical of Western Civilization is due to Western Civilization's quick adaptation to criticism. If we are wrong then we wish to correct it, that simple. That has often meant that wrongs committed by Western governments have been given disproportionate attention. Exactly because we will listen and evaluate the claims. I don't see why this should change. I get a chuckle when haters of Western Civilization find themselves advancing against positions long since vacated. What should change is the double standard with which too much latitude is given foreign cultures. For too long tolerance has been confused with acceptance.

I argue with myself enough already, but then as Socrates said an "unexamined life is not worth living." But then what about constant self critism can be considered "living." But then, thats enough buts. I stumbled into this wanting to post on a site that only allowed other bloggers. I am somewhat daunted and felt challenged by the idea of having a place to be instantly published. Somewhat humbled and comforted by the fact that I will surely be lost in the crowd. But in case I have anything important to say, I suppose I have now some place in the world to say it.
